My one star review is towards the 'company' not the one worker who showed up. The worker who showed up saved the day and had nothing to do with the actual 'company' who arranges the moving help. I hired two movers for my moving day thru Hire a Hero and at first was impressed with the communication given right away after booking. The day of the move, it was an unorganized chaos. In the end, only one mover showed up which meant that I had to do what the other mover was supposed to be doing. I was told he was on his way etc etc etc and that delayed the time frame that I had to move out. I had no choice but to do it myself along with the one guy who did show up asI needed to be out and this 'company' had no idea what was going on. I expressed my frustrations and was told that I would be given a refund. It is now a month later and I have not received my refund, have been ghosted and given the run around to receive it. Which leads me to finally posting a one star review.

Do NOT hire this company! I cannot stress that enough! It was so very clearly obvious that the 'movers' they sent me had never done a move before. They did not know how to carry things. They had absolutely no idea how to load a truck. One of the workers was actually wearing sandals. The furniture was too heavy for them. I provided a dolly but they did not know how to use it. They refused to load a larger dresser because they couldn't lift it. I, a 61 year old woman had to help them move several items because they could not manage them on their own. That being said, they took forever to do anything and the time ticked away. One got sick so we waited a half hour for the new person. Of course the clock was still ticking! I had to purchase more time although it was not my fault per se! BUT I will also add that one of the workers bowed out and they called in someone to replace them and the new person was excellent!! I did not have to be involved any longer.

ZERO stars! These guys were HORRIBLE! Movers showed up smoking marijuana. It was the first day for one of them. They took smoke breaks every 20 minutes and were cursing near my kids. They demanded that I drive them...NO! I contacted the company and they were AWFUL! Told me that I should be driving them. UHaul confirmed that NO I should not. After 6 hours, they didn't even get the truck full, due to all the breaks they needed. The company said they hired new movers at the new location to help unload. THEY NEVER SHOWED UP and the company ghosted me. Failed to reply to my texts or calls. I needed to spend double the money to get immediate help, late at night. For payment, the company told me to release the payment code so that the movers could get paid and that the hour remaining would be credited to the new movers during the unload. I never received a refund or answer to this date. Also, tons of damage to my furniture...holes through my wooden furniture, everything fell during transit.

One on the phone, and two movers for two hours. Placement of items on the truck were wrong as we were going to two different places. They were asked to separate them. Being hourly it takes longer to sort through them. They packed the truck and unpacked for 45 minutes. Each time not making room for the dresser that had to fit. I had to go on the truck and pull things off to hurry things along as I couldn't bare to watch these incompetent movers any longer. It was very much a stretch out the time scheme and soak more money. Before the truck was packed I received a call from head guy and he said time was up and I needed to pay another $90 and hr each to keep them on. I could not handle the heavier items. We would've been stuck. So I had to say yes. My brother and I took over at the first drop off. We then realized the truck was not properly packed as I instructed. The rest of move went quickly with my prompting. Head guy told me 270 by E-transfer. Reluctantly I sent it.

The guys were very efficient in unloading and moving my belongings up to the condo. Very nice and professional. They put my stuff in the rooms I needed and even helped me set up my couch. The boss who takes the payment code is very abrasive and wants the code immediately at the hour mark.

The guys who loaded the truck were very nice and were in constant communication. They tried their best to prevent any damage to my belongings. Although they didnt pack the truck as efficiently as it could habe been and I needed to leave some stuff behind at the storage unit and pack it up on my own time
