My red flag should have been when they asked me to send release code 2 weeks prior to job then asked if I could just cancel and pay him directly since it was so close to Christmas. I declined both pay options suggested. When the movers arrived he told me I had a lot of things and let me know it may take longer than 4 hours I understood although when we originally spoke on the phone I went over all items I had and where we were moving from and to and even agreed to pay for more hours. He then came back and ask if the persons at my home could help him and that I wouldn’t have to pay for the additional hour(s) if they could. After about 2 hours of watching him and the child he brought with him move items I agreed to allowing the persons at my home to help and even to still pay for the additional hour. Well that’s where the tables complete turned. The persons at my house started do more work and heavy lifting. I had broken totes, dressers, and other items. And he didn’t even finish the job
