Not my best experience with movers. There was a hidden $100 charge for stairs. Fair enough, but they claimed that we had three flights of ‘long’ stairs, one of which was the eight steps up to our front door, and we ended up moving around half of the stuff up to our top floor ourselves (plus a lot of stuff up the first real flight of stairs). Alex was on the phone for most of the move, which meant it took a lot longer than necessary and we felt pressure to help out as we knew they were running late to another job. They dinged up the walls a bit more than movers we’ve had in the past. To their credit, we had a piece of furniture that was tough to get through the door and they made a real good faith effort to make it work, which we appreciated. But they then had some trouble putting our front door back on (took them 40 minutes) which was concerning. We’ve since had furniture delivery involve taking the door off and others have had no trouble with it. Possibly just an off day, I guess.

Very open and consistent communication when they encountered transportation disruptions to get to the work address, but kept in touch as the situation developed, and still got the job done in the timeframe we needed! Also brought their own equipment when UHAUL surprised us during truck pickup with the fact they didn’t have any dollies available as-reserved. Would use Exit Movers again.
