My experience with Mod Design was exceptional in every way. From the initial contact with Cindy, a great customer service agent, so easy to work with and great communication, she put me at ease planning this move. The mover were exceptional as well, Joshua and Daniel showed up right on time and immediately when to work, they took great care in wrapping furniture and did great job packing the truck. This move had 3 parts and they performed at each stop. It was hot and humid and they never slowed down and stayed on task. Isaac and his assistant were terrific! They texted ahead of time to tell us when to expect them, arrived on time, and did the job well. They wrapped furniture to protect it and packed the U-Box securely. They parked in a challenging spot in Manhattan and made no complaint about the 5th floor walk-up. All our stuff arrived unbroken.

I had already reserved them for 5 hours for moving a 900 SF two bedroom apartment that everything except furniture was packed. They took 10 hours and charged me $950 more (in addition to initial $750), saying they took extra care to not damage things. I assumed they were telling the truth and paid the extra money. When I opened one of my crystal-ceramic boxes, I noticed almost all items were broken, while they were all wrapped separately and placed in several smaller individual boxes. When I contacted them about it, they first assumed I was a costumer moving to Florida and said it was probably your other movers who broke the box. When they realized I had no other movers, they blamed me, saying I should have used bubble wrap instead of foams and cardboard boxes for packaging. They offered to compensate me with $50 (later $100) for a full box of broken crystals while they had charged me $1700 for the job. A lot of the good reviews here are probably from people before opening their boxes

This moving company was absolutely amazing. I truly felt totally at ease with the loading process. The pre-day planning and communication was super on point and they were able to move things around for me at the last minute when I was running late which was a life saver. The movers Isaac and Josh were the best. They were so professional and really good at their jobs. They packed my items up with a high level of care and expertise and were able to fit all my stuff in like it was tetris, and I had a lot of stuff so i didn't think things were going to fit. Felt very lucky to have found this company thru u haul. 10 out of 10 would recommend.
