Before a Service Provider can join the Moving Help® Marketplace, Moving Help Specialists screen Service Providers who want to join the Marketplace and advertise their services and show their business profiles.
How does Moving Help screen Moving Helpers? Check out the five main ways Moving Help does it. You also can read the verification Moving Helpers article for more in-depth details.
How Moving Help Screens Service Providers
1. Account Owner Background Check
All account owners must fill out an application, must be 18 years old, and submit a government-issued ID picture. Once the Service Provider account owner meets these requirements, they’ll undergo a background check.
Account owners are responsible for the background checks on the people they hire to help complete jobs since each Service Provider is responsible for their own business.
2. ID Verification
Before joining the Moving Help Marketplace, every Service Provider must provide ID verification. The ID verification — along with a picture of them — can be done with any government-issued ID.
We want to make sure people are who they say they are before joining the Marketplace.
3. Agree to the Moving Helper Terms and Conditions Agreement
Service Providers on the Marketplace are not employees or contractors of U-Haul or Moving Help. They’re their own individual, local businesses. At the same time, they must agree to the Moving Helper Terms and Conditions agreement and follow the rules to advertise themselves on the Marketplace.
Service Providers choose their own prices, services, hours, days, and coverage areas.

4. Business Payment Verification
When it comes to getting paid, Moving Helpers must set up a verified payment method. This way, the funds from a job can be sent to the Service Provider after a customer releases the Payment Code to the provider.
Service Providers also are responsible for their own taxes and tax information.
5. Ongoing Monitoring
Once a Service Provider joins the Moving Help Marketplace, they will complete training about the Moving Help Marketplace. They also can schedule a one-on-one call with a Provider Success Manager to review procedures, policies, best practices, and any tips.

Moving Helpers have a support team where they can contact via email to receive answers to questions, comments, certain situations, and more. The Level Up Program offers additional training, coaching, and profile optimization for providers.
Finally, customers rate Service Providers. The better the ratings, the better they’ll show up on the Moving Help Marketplace. Service Providers have an incentive to earn amazing reviews because reviews help make their presence stronger on the Marketplace.
Why Do Reviews Matter to Customers and Service Providers?
Reviews matter to customers because after completing a review, customers receive back their $5.95 Refundable Marketplace Fee. Plus, you get to share your own experiences with the Service Provider you chose, which is another reason why reviews matter to customers.
Service Providers care about reviews because it helps their standings within the Moving Help Marketplace. While Service Providers are ranked based on several factors, the rating score for all Service Providers is one of the most important factors out of them all.
When Service Providers go above and beyond for customers for every single job, they’ll be more likely to receive a 5-star review from customers.
