Moving a refrigerator requires one other person to help you. You won’t want to move a fridge by yourself even if you have a dolly. The list of steps below will guide you on how to move and load a fridge.

  1. Grab your appliance dolly and unwrap the straps and keep the straps out of the way while you move the dolly
  2. Move the dolly to the edge of the fridge’s side
    • Don’t put the dolly in front of the fridge’s door or behind the fridge’s doors
  3. Push up on the fridge and slide the dolly underneath the fridge
  4. Wrap the straps around the fridge
    • Make sure the straps keep centered around the fridge
  5. Take the strap and put it through both rings
    • Fold the end of the strap over and through the first ring and pull tight
  6. Take the red handle and turn it to the right (counterclockwise)
  7. Make sure all wires and plugs are out of the way, so you don’t trip over them
    • If necessary, tape the wires and plugs to the fridge
  8. Put your foot down and lift up while the other person, who is on the opposite side of the fridge, pushes
  9. When moving the refrigerator, you should always load backward, so the appliance is in front of you.
