1. Moving Boxes

Moving boxes are needed no matter what move you need to complete. While you may think every box is the same, that’s not true. U-Haul makes sturdy, affordable moving boxes that were meant for moving.

You have the basics like:

You also can get specialized boxes like:

2. Paper Packing Tape for Moving Boxes

Every good moving box needs some strong packing tape. Not all packing tape is the same, however. U-Haul has paper packing tape for moving boxes. This tape was made specifically for moving boxes.

It sticks to the moving boxes quickly, and it doesn’t fall off them either. Additionally, the biggest struggles customers face is tearing tape — usually always requiring scissors — and finding the spot where the tape ended.

With the U-Haul paper packing tape for moving boxes, you can tear the tape easily with your own hands, and you’ll easily find where the tape ended.

3. Packing Paper for Moving

Packing paper is great to use for fragile and non-fragile belongings. U-Haul uses acid-free, ink-free newsprint, which is an excellent way to avoid getting ink onto your belongings.

Packing paper also can be laid onto the bottom of a moving box or crumbled together to fill space in your moving box.

4. Packing Peanuts

Packing peanuts is an amazing way to quickly and easily fill your moving boxes to cushion and support your items in your boxes. These packing peanuts are anti-static as well, so you can pack them with electronic devices.

U-Haul packing peanuts are 100 percent biodegradable, plant-based packing solution. In fact, they’re made from potato starch and corn starch, so they’re edible for people and pets.

5. Mover’s Stretch Plastic Wrap

If you have drawers, entertainment units, chairs, silverware, furniture pads, etc., you’ll want to grab a roll of mover’s stretch plastic wrap. The U-Haul mover’s stretch plastic wrap can bind, bundle, and fasten your belongings together.

Have a bunch of silverware? You can use mover’s stretch plastic wrap. Have moving blankets that cover couches, chairs, or desks? It can stay together with the plastic wrap.

6. Box Markers With Knife

When it comes to labeling, it’s more helpful to write on the box of what contents are inside the box vs. just writing “kitchen” nine times. U-Haul box markers are non-toxic as well and easy to write onto moving boxes.

U-Haul also has a box cutter, which is easy to use for opening moving boxes. Rather than getting frustrated trying to open a moving box with tape, you can quickly swipe through it with the U-Haul box cutter.

7. Bubble Wrap

Do you have some extra fragile or sentimental items that you want to give extra protection to them? You can try the bubble wrap from U-Haul. U-Haul has several sizes you can choose from, including an enviro-bubble and dispenser box.

The bubble wrap protects delicate belongings from scratches and abrasions. It also can be used to fill spaces in the moving boxes.

8. Furniture Pads

Furniture pads, also known as moving blankets, are a fabulous way to protect furniture items and appliances.

A woman puts the finishing touches on her mattress by covering it with a sealable mattress bag. Mattress bags are great moving supplies.

With U-Haul, you have several options. The first option is you can purchase furniture pads. The second option is you can buy quilted furniture pads for long-term storage. The third option is if you only need them on moving day, you can rent furniture pads from U-Haul.

Furniture pads keep your largest and most expensive items from receiving any damage.

9. Mattress Bags

It goes without saying you need a mattress bag. While you might think you could get away without one. Trust us, you won’t get away with it. That also would not be very demure.

A U-Haul mattress bag costs anywhere from $16.95-$24.95 with or without handles. One mattress bag can protect your mattress from dirt, grime, bugs, and the weather elements.

10. TV Moving Box

A TV is probably one of the more fragile, expensive items in your home. The last thing you want to do is leave it to chance that it doesn’t break. While you could use bed sheets or towels to protect your device, why not use something secure? That’s where the U-Haul TV moving box comes into play.

You can select several options:

These boxes have easy-to-lift handles along with four foam pieces to go over each corner of your TV.

What Should I Pack Myself?

Only you can answer the question, “What Should I Pack Myself?” Some people like to do all the packing themselves. Some people like to do none of the packing. Some people like to do some of the packing.

If you need packing help, the Moving Help Marketplaces has labor-only Service Providers who offer packing services in your area.
